# Glossary

## APY

Annual Percentage Yield, a measurement of an account’s interest rate based upon the interest that accrues on the account balance after a period of one year.

## CBD

Cannabidiol, a compound that is present in cannabis and that may have a use in medical treatment.

## DeFi

Decentralized Finance, a blockchain-based form of finance that does not rely on central financial intermediaries such as brokerages, exchanges, or banks to offer traditional financial instruments, and instead utilizes smart contracts on blockchains.
